This Thanksgiving, Believe It or Not, We’re Thankful for 2020

There are plenty of memes mocking just how bad of a year 2020 has been. Almost everyone has a tale of loss: whether it was loss of a job, loss of a revenue, loss of a major milestone or event, or – worst of all - loss of a loved one. 2020 has impacted all of us, and not necessarily in positive ways.

However, as we approach Thanksgiving, here at Telaid, we are reflecting on what we gained in 2020. Just when it seems there is nothing left, sometimes unexpected gifts emerge from the ashes.

So here it is a list of reasons we give thanks, even in the year 2020.

Our incredible employees - We are fortunate to employ an extremely dedicated, passionate team of individuals who worked tirelessly over the course of this year. This is something our employees do every year. But this year, many worked from home with young children underfoot. Many worked in the field, risking exposure to COVID-19. Others worked particularly long days to compensate for sick colleagues or customers. In a year of adversity, our incredible employees shined like never before. For that, we are incredibly grateful!

We are valued – We are thankful that a great number of our clients reached out to Telaid to ask for our support as they grappled with unexpected circumstances in 2020. This year showed us that we are valued and trusted by our customers. For that, we are thankful and honored.

For innovative technologies – Many of the innovative solutions we deliver are the very solutions that enabled enterprises to continue to operate, even when employees had to work remotely, and service had to go contactless. This year demonstrated that innovative technologies are key to overcoming adversity and providing new ways of delivering value in a complex marketplace. For these technologies, we are thankful.

For our customers – Amidst great uncertainty and risk of exposure, our customers in retail, food service, financial services and healthcare – continued to operate throughout the year to serve our communities, to keep our economy open, and to provide critically needed supplies during the pandemic. We are thankful for their fearlessness, their commitment, their tirelessness as we continue to struggle against the pandemic, even in the last quarter of 2020.

While most people agree that 2020 is not likely to make their “awesome years” list, it will hopefully be a year that we reflect on and remember how much we were able to accomplish together. Perhaps 2020 was the year that refined us and strengthened us for whatever comes next. May we all take time this week to reflect on the things for which we are grateful.
